Secured by Design (SBD) member company SALTO have achieved the Police Digital Security Centre’s Digitally Aware accreditation, demonstrating to their customers, staff and suppliers how important the security of their information is to the business.
With 65,000 cyber security attacks on UK SMEs daily, and 41% of UK consumers claiming they will never return to a business that has had a security breach, investing in cyber security has never been more important.
The Police Digital Security Centre’s (PDSC) Digitally Aware certification scheme, designed in collaboration with BSI (the British Standards Institute), recognises those businesses who have made the first step towards better cyber security.
The Digitally Aware certification – which is being offered FREE to SBD member companies - can be completed through a simple online assessment tool in just 15 minutes. The assessment helps test the resilience of the business to the most common types of cyber crime.
Businesses are provided with a tailored report based on the assessment, which contains specific recommendations of action in accordance with the latest Government and police guidance, with those who achieve the Digitally Aware accreditation receiving a certificate valid for 12 months.
Michelle Kradolfer, Cyber Development Officer at the PDSC, said: “In these unprecedented times, it is crucial that businesses are taking the time to review their vulnerability to common types of cyber crimes, understand their exposure to risk and put in place simple control measures to improve their own resilience.
“We are delighted to see that businesses such as SALTO have taken active steps to complete and successfully obtain our Digitally Aware certificate, demonstrating to their customers, employees and stakeholders that they take their cyber security seriously. We hope that other businesses will take note of this achievement and follow in SALTO’s footsteps in helping to keep UK SMEs cyber secure.”
“In an increasingly digital world and a growing market for smart connected devices including access control, it is vital that companies take all possible steps to secure their products and services” says SALTO Systems Limited MD Ramesh Gurdev “That’s why SALTO has actively embraced programmes such as the PDSC Certification Scheme and BSI’s Enhanced Level IoT Kitemark. Both provide a mark of trust for current and potential customers to robustly demonstrate that our connected products are safe, secure and fit for purpose throughout their life.”
SALTO Systems are world leaders in wire free and wireless, cloud and mobile access control solutions, providing total control over who is able to access what, where and when at all times.
From its inception in 2001, SALTO was created with the objective of devising a world-class access control system that was simple to use and extremely efficient, giving users the ability to control all their access needs and secure all their doors without complex and expensive wiring. The solution had to be simple to install and set up, cost-effective, reliable, complete and future-proof. What resulted was the company’s pioneering SVN platform - the first stand-alone, battery-powered electronic locks for access control.
Since then SALTO has gone on to introduce a series of other innovations that have had a major impact on electronic security. With its online and real-time technology, their market-leading XS4 platform enhances the usability of virtually every building environment by securing nearly every door and enabling the monitoring and control of every user. SALTO hardware and software can be networked without wires to provide real-time intelligence and instant control, while enabling integration with existing systems to improve manageability and enhance end-user experience.
From airports and healthcare to government education and hotels, SALTO continue to deliver some of the most advanced and flexible electronic locking solutions on the market.
