65,000 Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the UK suffer a cyber-attack each day. The good news however, is that the overwhelming majority of cyber-crime can be prevented by taking a few simple steps. At the Police Digital Security Centre (PDSC), we work with a wide range of stakeholders in raising awareness about the importance of good cyber security in support of the Government’s commitment to make the UK one of the safest places to do business online.
Due to growth, the PDSC is expanding its team to help deliver its SME-focused awareness programme. You’ll be supporting SMEs improve their understanding of where they may be at risk of a cyber-attack or breach, while developing material that seeks to educate, inform and encourage businesses to enhance their security posture.
The successful applicant will have a good, general understanding of cyber security (perhaps gained through a degree or post-degree qualification) and be aware of the current threats faced by SMEs. We are looking for an innovative thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including; police forces, businesses, trade bodies, academic institutions and local and national government. You will need to be a strong communicator to deliver presentations, write reports and have the personal drive and energy to promote these subjects to the benefit of our organisation.
Location: The post holder will be expected to travel throughout the UK, but will be based at their home address. All applicants must be prepared to devote adequate work space for office facilities and broadband access at their home.
Benefits: £26,000 p.a. 3% employer’s pension contribution to NEST, group Life Cover.
