According to recent figures published by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), the cyber security market in the UK has grown by over 50% in the last five years, generating almost £6 billion of revenue.
However, this rapid growth means that it can often be confusing for consumers to find a digital security provider who they can trust to deliver a product or service that meets their needs. That’s why PDSC, in collaboration with the British Standards Institution (BSI) have developed a new certification scheme for cyber security vendors.
The new scheme comprises of two separate awards:
Digital Security Innovator
Our entry-level award is aimed at start-ups. We’re looking for innovative cyber security companies who can demonstrate that their product or service addresses a recognised security issue faced by SMEs. Successful applicants will also need to demonstrate that they have a robust business case.
Digital Security Provider
Our second award is aimed at more established cyber security companies offering products, services or consultancy to SMEs and who are seeking an independent assessment of their organisation by the British Standards Institution.
Why become a Digital Security Innovator or Provider?
We know from speaking to thousands of SMEs that trust is a really important consideration when choosing a provider who can meet their needs. We want to promote those vendors who take time to understand their customers and deliver solutions that are tailored to their needs. We also want to promote innovative British businesses who are using new approaches to protecting SMEs from cyber crime and fraud.
All Digital Security Innovators and Digital Security Providers will appear on our website together with a summary of the product, service or consultancy offered to SMEs with contact details.
We’d also like our successful applicants to join us at various events across the country, helping us support SMEs in reducing their vulnerability to cyber crime and fraud. This may also involve joining us on panels or stands at conferences, or providing input for webinars, blogs and podcasts.
