Apps & Social Media

Third party app stores are a potential risk to your business.

The apps available could be a copycat version that manipulates users into divulging credentials, personal information and credit card information to a hacker; or they could contain malware that infects your device once opened.Apps

This is because there are fewer restrictions when submitting an app to the store. To find apps, you should use reputable stores that review the applications before they become available for public use.

As with anything, using a reputable store does not 100% guarantee every app is safe, so remain vigilant. It is recommended that any new app should only be installed by those who have a genuine need for their job role, reducing the risk of unnecessary and potentially harmful apps finding their way onto your network- consider only allowing your admin to perform this task.

Up-to-date anti-virus software will provide some protection for your device in general.
